A New Book on Nuclear Energy by Professor Way Kuo

A new book on nuclear engineering, authored by RS distinguished member and IEEE TR EIF Way Kuo, will be on the market soon. Professor Way Kuo, the President of City University of Hong Kong and an international well-known expert in nuclear energy reliability, was invited to visit Japan after Fukushima Nuclear Disaster to analyze the reason of Fukushima Nuclear Disaster and provide the prospect of energy policy. His new book summarizes his discovery from his trip to Japan.

This book is divided into two sections. The first section is based on the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster to dissect every detail and cause of the disaster. The second section investigates the policy of energy and the future of environmental protection. By evaluating the possibilities of different kinds of energy, the book discovers the balance among the supply of energy, the economic welfare, the reliability and the sustainability.

The book has been translated into traditional Chinese in Taipei by Commonwealth Publishing Company. The English version, Japanese version, Hong Kong version, and shortened Chinese version are to be published soon in New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Beijing, respectively. The expecting news is that the English version will be made available in August/September. The book launch press cnference will be held on June 7 by Commonwealth Publishing Company in Taipei.
